GUARANI'S BRAZILIAN CHAMPIONSHIP GOLDEN BALL WINNERS
The Bola de Ouro (Golden Ball) is awarded by Placar Magazine to the Brazilian Championship Player of the Year. Players are given individual match performance ratings, for each match they play in the Championship and the winner is the player with the highest average score at the end of the campaign. It was introduced in 1971 - the same year in which the Brazilian Championship began – although an actual Golden Ball was not issued until 1973. It is widely considered the definitive Brazilian Footballer of the Year award.

COMEBACK KINGS
Guarani hold the record for recovering from the biggest deficit, to win a match in Brazil. On 10 April 1927, the club was trailing 5-1 to Santos but an incredible second half comeback saw Bugre record a superb 6-5 victory. This feat was made all the more incredible by the fact that Guarani finished the game with only 10 players, after defender Joca broke his leg.
